Dryers are great

This makes three posts this month. That is a record for me so far. I really should be in bed, but I just finished catching up with all of my friends blogs and figured I could just write something real quick.

The father of The Husband came by last night and fixed my dryer. This is so extremely wonderful. We have been without electric drying capabilities for two years. We have only had electric washing capabilities for a bit under a year. I did five small loads of laundry today and they all got dried! When we moved into this house there was no washer and dryer hook-ups. We had a washer and dryer, thanks to my mom, but no where to put them, so they lived in the garage. When we gutted and remodeled the bathroom, The Husband put in the water pipes to the laundry room. So for almost a year, with an extension cord running through the kitchen, we have been able to wash our clothes at our own house. In the summer I hang the clothes outside to dry and in the winter I rigged an indoor clothes line in the laundry room. A few months back we got permanant electicity running into the laundry room, so no more extension cords. We also thought we would be able to use the dryer, but when we plugged it in we realized that it had been been broken in it's multiple moves. For my birthday, The Husband's parents decided to get the replacement parts for the dryer and then to install them. So a month later it is finished. We are now the proud owners of clean and non-crunchy clothing, towels and bedding. Life is better.
