Baby of Dreams Has An Announcement

As some of you, but not many of you, know. Baby of Dreams is going to be a big sister sometime around July 27th. I am not exactly sure of the due date yet, just because we haven't been to the Dr. yet for our first appointment. We will be going on Jan. 5th so hopefully we will know slightly more after that. I have been pretty sick for the past three weeks, so I am sure that this baby is extremely healthly. I am 10 weeks along now and would like to believe that the sickness will leave when I start my 2nd trimester, but am not putting any stock in that actually happening. I was sick with Baby of Dreams until month 5. We are all very excited about "Gub Gub". I was talking to Baby of Dreams one morning about the new baby and it sounded like she called it Gub Gub and the name just stuck. We waited to tell our parents on Christmas Eve and they were all pretty excited too.

I have more updates, but they will have to wait until later, because Baby of Dreams is really done with her nap and needs lunch. Come to think of it, Gub Gub really needs lunch too. I'll try to update sooner than later.

Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Night

The Husband came home sick this morning and slept most of the day. He has some type of flu. Baby of Dreams and I spent the day playing, grocery shopping, napping and playing some more. The Husband woke up at 5:00pm and spent the rest of his evening confined to the couch. At least he hasn't thrown up again. We tried to not let Baby of Dreams climb on him or get too close. I put her down at 7:00pm and stayed up with the Husband for a while longer and then went to bed. I woke up around 1:00am because Baby of Dreams was sad and also making strange noises. I went in to her and realized that lunch was all over her crib, including her brand new tiger from Grandma. Now Baby of Dreams spit up a lot when she was smaller, but this was nothing like it. I grabbed her and ran her downstairs, where luckily the Husband is feeling a bit better. He stripped her down and gave her a bath while I tackled the crib. I took the sheet outside to dump off the particles and wasn't as careful as I should have been. I sprayed myself with the sick and almost lost my own dinner twice. Everything is now safely in the wash and washing in hot water. I now need to take a shower. I get in the shower and can't get anything more then slightly luke warm water. I had not taken into consideration that one baby bath + one load of hot laundry + our water heater do not = a hot shower for me. So I burst into tears, get out of the shower and am now sitting on the couch, smelling throwup, telling my woes to the world. (The Husband has kindly taken Baby of dreams and is sitting with her in the office.) Interesting that my first thought after destroying my water heater, was to write about it. I do feel a bit better though. And I am going to be checking the water for correct temperature very soon.

Health Update on Baby of Dreams

Well, it turns out that Baby of Dreams was not over her fever and continued it off and on all day Friday. She seemed okay to me in the morning and I left for work in the early afternoon. When I got home, she was good for about 10 minutes and then started screaming. She was due to got to sleep so I put her down. She woke up again about 2 hours later and I thought she was ready to get up and eat. I was wrong, she wanted to get up and scream, so I put her to bed for the night. She slept well enough that I moved her to my bed so I could make sure she was still breathing, every once in a while. She woke up late, for her, Saturday morning and again screamed a lot and flailed around on the ground and refused to let the Husband or I comfort her. I called the Dr.'s office, explained and they told me to bring her in. I am so grateful they are open a bit on Saturdays. We did have to wait almost two hours at the Dr. office, which was pretty excruciating, but I am so glad we went. Poor Baby of Dreams had two ear infections and was in the rash stage of Roseola. I hadn't even noticed a rash until we got to the Dr.'s office, but in my defense it probably only showed up sometime that morning. We then got Baby of Dreams her first anti-biotic and some really great ear drops that numb the inside of her ears. She has been sleeping a lot and practically living on juice. She definitely has not gotten dehydrated from this experience. She seems to be feeling a lot better now, but is still a bit cranky. I am now assuming that it is her ears that still hurt her a bit. The poor child has been through a lot the past 6 days. I remember my mom took such good care of me when I was sick, I hope I can do as well for my Baby of Dreams.

Statistics

I am on a roll tonight, with catching up on a bit of blogging, so I might as well get some good information down.
I took Baby of Dreams to the doctor yesterday to get her next set of immunizations. I was definitely worried, but we brought her tiger and her favorite blanket, (that coincidentally was given to her by the Husband's mom) and a full sippy of juice. She did scream, but really the nurses do an excellent job. Five shots in just a few seconds. I let her have the strawberry dum-dum that the doctor gave her and she got happier pretty quick. *A side note: This was her first, legal, candy. We are trying to keep her, as much as we can, off of processed sugar for at least her first two years. I took her home and she just sat with me on the couch for about 20 minutes, until I had to leave for work. If you know Baby of Dreams at all, you know that this is not normal. She is usually running around the house and most often climbing on things, every moment that she is awake. I put her down for a nap and the Husband sat with her when she woke up. When I got home from work she was definitely running a temperature. She sat with me for the next FOUR hours, barely moving. She was so hot! After a run to the store for more medicine, a call to the on-call doctor and a blessing from the Husband, Baby of Dreams was finally able to go to sleep for the night. She slept pretty well and seemed fine this morning. About the time I was about to get ready for work, she started running a temperature again. So I stayed home to tend to her. She seems much better now and was getting cranky around bedtime, a sure sign that she is back to normal, for the most part. Her temperature last night had been so high that the Husband and I were both extremely worried. She was so lethargic that it just was not normal and I knew she was feeling rotten. I was so sad and worried for her, but I am going to admit that I LOVED holding and cuddling my baby. She is so busy that she rarely has time to let me hold her, let alone cuddle and coo her. It was awesome being able to hold her like I used to.

On a more technical note, we got all her size statistics again. She was 15 months on the 10th.
Weight: 17.44 lbs. that is the 0.42 percentile
Height: 30 in. that is the 37th percentile
Head Circumference: 18.25 in. that is the 64th percentile

I could have sworn she was getting a lot heavier, but she has only gained about a pound and half since she turned one. The doctor is still not worried about her weight and he gave me the okay on turning her big girl car seat around. I know I was given advice a bit ago that I could probably do this, but I was chicken. You have to remember that this is my first child and I am entitled to a bit of over protectiveness.
I figured that I needed a picture in this entry, but did not really have one to go with it, so I might as well put this one in and tell a bit about it. Baby of Dreams loves playing the keyboard. She likes it much better when mom remembers to turn it on for her. We are working on not standing on the stool and pulling everything off of the keyboard. She usually does a pretty good job already on not pounding on the keys. She is seriously contemplating her next composition.

Things to Carry

I thought is was extremly cute that Baby of Dreams absolutely loved her pink pumpkin. I got it about a week before Halloween and it was her favorite toy that entire week. She loved carrying it around and filling it up and unfilling it and carrying it around some more. I apologize for being the mom to snap the practically naked baby pictures, but how cute is she with her pumpkin.

Halloween

I know this is way late, but I had to show off my little tiger. Baby of Dreams loved wearing her tiger costume. In fact, I put it on her, right after I got it, to see how it fit and she immediately went over to the door so she could go outside. The suit was so warm, I think, she thought, it was an outdoor snow type suit. And if many of you know me very well, here is my chance to defend the pink pumkin. (For those of you that do not know, I am not a fan of pink, but am getting a bit better.) The tiger suit isn't exactly a "girly" costume and poor Baby of Dreams is mistaken for a boy too often as it is, so I figured a pink pumpkin would help everyone know that she really is a girl. The results ..... she still got mistaken for a boy at least twice. The reason we went with a non-girly tiger to begin with is that her favorite lovey in the whole world is a stuffed tiger she got from my mom. She goes everywhere with her tiger and has a hard time getting to sleep without him. She likes to take his tail and double it over in her hand and then stick the thumb of that hand, in her mouth. It is so cute! I need to get an up-close picture of it. When we were looking for costumes for her, we saw a really expensive tiger suit and she got so excited over it. We couldn't get it, but later a found this much cheaper tiger suit and it worked out great.
I had wanted us to dress up in costumes that would somehow make sense with hers, but the only thing I could come up with was for us to be zookeepers and I could not figure out how to do that without spending any money. So the night before Halloween I decided that the Husband and I were going to be kids dressed in pajamas and Baby of Dreams would be OUR stuffed tiger. I already had some great pajamas and we were so very comfortable. We will see if I can get more creative next year.

Another Quirks Tag

Well I completely forgot, but I have two tags I am working on and Marie tagged me on this one. I kind of did this one already so I am going to try and reveal new and more quirks about me.

#1 I love making lists and organizing the things that I am doing. Just tonight I made up two possible schedules, for when the Husband goes back to school next semester. I did them on two different spreadsheets. They are incredibly in depth. I really like to be organized in that way.
#2 Baby of Dreams has two sippy cups that she uses. I have to put her juice in the red one and her milk in the green one. It makes sense to me, color wise. I have a very difficult time when the Husband puts milk in the red one or juice in the green one.
#3 I am not sure if this is a quirk or not, but I am struggling here. I have a routine in the shower that I practically never wavier from. I use face wash first, then soap, then shampoo.
#4 I have many, many different nick-names for my baby. I'll try to mention some: Ba-loo, Ba-zoo, Baloo-ber Too-ber, (her first name) Ma-kins-kins, Zoo-bler, Ma-goom-ba, (her first name) Lou. These are just the ones I can think of right now. There really is no story behind any of them, they are just fun to say.
#5 Instead of hanging my clothes up on a regular basis, I have them in a neat pile near the closet and in a neat pile hanging on top of the closet door.
#6 I can move my second toe, on each foot, almost completely independently of the rest of my toes (my big toe moves slightly with it).
#7 I love mixing root beer and milk. It tastes like a root beer float, after you have eaten the ice cream. The husband thinks this is extremely weird.

Okay, I did it!
I tag Andrea Neitzel, Audrey Clayton, Jessica Wood, Jessica Aston, Audra, Angela Fraser, and Heather Munz.

The Husband

1. Where did you meet your husband? Gresham, Oregon. I was on my mission and the Husband was living with his uncle, preparing to go on his mission.
2. How long did you date before you got married? 3 months (6 weeks dating, 6 week engagement)
3. How long have you been married?4 years on Jan. 14, 2009
4. What does he do that surprises you? Cleans up after me when I need it the most, without being asked.
5. What is your favorite feature of his? His chest. I love to snuggle up on it.
6. What is his best quality? He is extremely conscientious of being a good father.
7. Does he have a nickname for you? He used to call me "Cute" and "Creature", before Baby of Dreams was born.
8. What is his favorite food? Meat
9. What is his favorite sport? He is not big into sports, but he really likes baseball.
10. When and where did you first kiss? We were snuggling on the couch, watching a movie at his parent's house. His brother and girlfriend, now wife, were watching with us. It was sometime right before we were engaged and I do not remember the movie.
11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? We love cooking together.
12. Do you have any children? 1 beautiful little girl, almost 15 months old.
13. Does he have any hidden talents? He sings very well.
14. How old is he? 26
15. Who said 'I love you first? I am not positive, but I think it was him. I wanted to wait and say it when I was pretty sure he was "the one" and he just knew I was cool and he really, really liked me.
16. What is his favorite music? 80's rock. His dad used to listen to it and the Husband grew up with it.
17. What do you admire most about him? His amazing skills as a father and thoughtfulness as a husband.
18. What is his favorite color? I think I will say blue.
19. Will he read this? Probably not. I keep telling him that he should read and even contribute to our blog, but he never remembers to do it.

There, two tags down and Halloween and recent stories of Baby of Dream to go.

Good Weekend

It has been an excellent weekend (my weekend goes from Saturday to Monday, because those are the days the Husband has off). We dropped Baby of Dreams off at our good friend's home and then headed over to the temple cafeteria to have dinner. There was a ginormous line when we got to the cafeteria, a youth group was there, but they insisted that we go ahead of them. Dinner was wonderful, the food and the atmosphere. Then our temple session was amazing. It was so good being able to spend time with the Husband in such a wonderful place. We then picked up a box of ice cream and went back over to our friend's home, where Baby of Dreams was, and watched a movie with them. Should I be worried that Baby of Dreams played extremely well with the almost 4-year-old boy and really wouldn't do anything with the little girl her own age? She plays really well with older boys and they seem to think she is the cutest thing in the world. I think we are going to have our hands full with this girl. The only time she was upset, while we were gone, was when she was done eating and really did not want anything else and once when she fell off a small slide. Both pretty reasonable, in my opinion. This was only the third time that both of us had left her. I was a bit nervous still, but felt better after each time, so I guess I am getting more used to it.
The Husband was able to go to church with us on Sunday and that was wonderful too. We made pizza together and then watched a great family movie. Today we just sort of hung around the house and then were able to take Baby of Dreams to a hay bale maze at a pumpkin patch and then to the park. Then we went out to eat with the Husband's brother and his wife and their baby. All in all it has been a very good and happy weekend.

Journals

Okay, so after the temple post I thought, 'I really need to go to bed, I am extremely tired.' So what do I do? I read though all of my blogs, from the beginning. I then proceeded to fix all the grammatical errors that I found. Then I realized that I haven't written very much and one of my purposes of starting this blog was to keep a journal of our family. I guess it is better than nothing, but it still isn't very good. I need to do better. I also found a website, on someone else's blog, that will really come in handy for the whole journal idea. They will print out your blog in journal form. Perfect! I am really going to try and do that each year. http://www.blurb.com/create/book/blogbook

The Temple

Yipp-idy do daw! The Husband and I get to go to the temple on Saturday, although we might move it up to Thursday, depending on the babysitting situation. It has been a bit since we went, so I am extremely excited. It is pretty silly, we can see the Moroni statue from our bathroom window, (my mother-in-laws favorite aspect of our house) but it is just as hard for us to get to the temple as if we lived 100 miles away. And just in case anyone was wondering, I LOVE THE HUSBAND and would marry him all over again.

What Is the Sense In That

Have you ever been too tired to go to bed? I do this all the time and it is incredibly silly of me. I get so tired that just the thought of getting up and getting ready for bed, exhausts me. So I sit on the sofa, wishing that I could just instantaneously transport myself to bed with all of my bedtime rituals already done, and becoming even more tired. Why can't I just go to bed when I first feel tired? I just don't know, but I think I have finally talked myself into going to bed tonight.

Oh and this little note is to The Wife's grandmother:
Hey, Grandma! Thanks for reading our blog. I hope it makes you laugh every once and a while and doesn't disturb you too much. Check out Bear Family and The Little Tracy Fam. You will know who they are! We love you!

Family Picture

I have noticed that I haven't put many pictures up here lately, so here we go. This is our latest, self-taken, family picture. I know Baby of Dreams dosen't look too happy, but we were extremely lucky that she wasn't screaming. We had just gotten home from church and it was nap time. This was taken in the middle of September and I have since cut my hair. I guess I will try to get a picture of my new haircut up here sometime.

Quirks

The rules: Link to the person that tagged you. (Two Jeffs and a Bethany) Mention these rules on your blog. Tell 6 unspectacular quirks of yourself and tag 6 fellow bloggers.

I don't exactly know how to link this to anything, but I will try after I finish writing this, which may take a while because it sounds like Baby of Dreams just woke up. This will be a work in progress. I have been thinking long and hard about this and have concluded that this is hard.
( I Figured out how to do the linking thing two days after I wrote the rest of this.)

#1 I hate mint. Peppermint, spearmint, mint anything that is minty. I have been brushing my teeth with Crest Sparkle for Kids, for as long as I can remember. The smell of mint makes me nauseous. I even have a hard time when people are chewing mint gum around me. I do like wintergreen though and mint chocolate chip ice cream is okay. Don't ask why, I have no clue.

#2 As soon as I learned how to write in cursive, and my teachers let me, I started writing in print agian. If I write anything, it is in print. It is just neater that way. I do sign my name in cursive, for the most part.

#3 I love checking in on other's blogs. I have a list here of the people I have official links to, but in my bookmarks I have a huge list of blogs that I follow. These are old friends, past aqquaintances, old boyfriends and kids that grew up in my home ward. Does this make me stalkerish or just nosey?

#4 I have to fold my bath towels in a certian way. I fold them in half and then half again and then in thirds. If my husband folds them for me, I have to refold them.

#5 I take our camera to most important events and often never take any pictures. I usually just forget to take the pictures after doing everything possible to remember to take the camera. Along the lines of picture taking, I love digital cameras. I used to take a lot of pictures with my 110 camera and my 35mm camera. I have a gallon sized bag of film that needs to be developed, some of the film is from middle school.

#6 I think that my baby is the most gorgeous baby in the history of the world. I am sorry, but it is the truth. I am guessing that this is a quirk of all mothers. I seriously can't think of any other quirks at this time though.

I tag Bear Family, Tim & Denise, Jemmett Family, The Little Tracy Fam, Little Bits of Bliss and Scott, Steph and Zuri.

Sleepy Baby

At the moment I am the only one awake in my house. The Husband has been asleep on the sofa for a couple of hours now and I really don't think Baby of Dreams is feeling all that well. She went to bed at 9:30pm last night, which is about normal for her. I had a meeting at 9:00am this morning so I left around 8:30am. Baby of Dreams had woken up a few times, but gotten herself back to sleep. When I got home I was expecting The Husband to have fed Baby of Dreams, who would have gotten up at 9 or 9:30am. I got home at 11:00am and she was still not up. I was in the middle of a phone conversation which wrapped up at 11:30 and Baby of Dreams was still not awake. I went upstairs to check on her, she never sleeps that long, and she imediately stood up looking like I woke her way too early. I changed her diaper fed her some breakfast and the Huband and I started putting together lunch. Baby of Dreams ran around being altogether too cranky for having slept so long. I ended up putting her back down for another nap at around 1:15pm. She didn't complain at all. It is now 3:35pm and she is still asleep. Is she sick? Is she going through a growth spurt? Is she sick and going through a growth spurt? She has never slept this much in one day. Is this normal every once in a while? She has no other symptoms of being sick. It has been, for the most part a very quite day.

Dryers Are Still Great, but Not Mine

About a week ago I started pulling my clothes out of the dryer and realized they were still damp, so I set the dial for a bit longer. I came back and they were still damp and realized that they were still cold as well. Our dryer sounds like it is drying and looks like it is drying, but it is really not drying. I am sad. We had about a good month with the thing working properly, but I guess it was too good to last. We think we can get parts to fix it, which will be cheaper than getting a new dryer, but now I have to bug The Husband to figure it all out. For some reason it does not concern him as much as it concerns me. This is probably because he has only done the laundry twice in the last four years and obviously does not care about having crunchy towels again. I HATE CRUNCHY TOWELS!!!!!

The 1st Birthday of Baby of Dreams

Okay, so Baby of Dreams' birthday was on August 10th, but I figured I should get something up here sooner or later. As typical of most one-year-olds, Baby of Dreams was not too excited about her party. We had quite a few people over including all of The Husband's immediate family and The Wife's mother and aunt. We stripped Baby of Dreams down to her diaper, spread out a sheet on the lawn and let her at her small, three layer, sugar-free, carrot, birthday cake. She would not touch it.
The husband smashed her hand into the cake and tried to put some in her mouth. She would not have any of it. She preferred to wander around the backyard picking up green plums, off our tree, and stuffing as many as she could in her mouth. She put up quite a fight when I made her spit them all out. She did seem to slightly enjoy taking tissue paper out of her gift bags, but wasn't extremely interested in her toys. It probably did not help that most of her toys immediately found temporary homes with the children at the party. Oh well, we learned some things about one-year-old parties that we will try to implement in the future. And lest you feel that Baby of Dreams has every right to ignore my sugar free cake, she ate lots of it in the following days, as long as I cut it into nice small cubes. I was taking videos of Baby of Dreams and the cake so I did not get any actual pictures of her. But, I got pictures of her the next day with her toys.
All in all it was a good day and my little, tiny baby is now one year old. Just this morning Baby of Dreams was running around the kitchen making high pitched squealing nosies and being content with life, it was extremely entertaining, I asked The Husband what we had done before Baby of Dreams entered our family and we both agreed that we must have been bored to tears.

Baby of Dreams Update

For all those who like the statistical aspect of growing babies, we have the newest stats on Baby of Dreams.
She is in the 0.59%tile for her weight (15.88 lbs.), (yes, that is less than 1%)
29%tile for her height (28.25 in.)
86%tile for her head circumference (18.25 in.)
The doctor said she was tall for her weight and she had a big brain. He wasn't worried about her size at all. He feels that with my physique, Baby of Dreams' physique makes sense. He said that she looks healthy. So I am officially not worried anymore about her size. I will now be grateful that she is not growing out of her clothes very quickly and we will be able to get more use out of them.

Dryers are great

This makes three posts this month. That is a record for me so far. I really should be in bed, but I just finished catching up with all of my friends blogs and figured I could just write something real quick.

The father of The Husband came by last night and fixed my dryer. This is so extremely wonderful. We have been without electric drying capabilities for two years. We have only had electric washing capabilities for a bit under a year. I did five small loads of laundry today and they all got dried! When we moved into this house there was no washer and dryer hook-ups. We had a washer and dryer, thanks to my mom, but no where to put them, so they lived in the garage. When we gutted and remodeled the bathroom, The Husband put in the water pipes to the laundry room. So for almost a year, with an extension cord running through the kitchen, we have been able to wash our clothes at our own house. In the summer I hang the clothes outside to dry and in the winter I rigged an indoor clothes line in the laundry room. A few months back we got permanant electicity running into the laundry room, so no more extension cords. We also thought we would be able to use the dryer, but when we plugged it in we realized that it had been been broken in it's multiple moves. For my birthday, The Husband's parents decided to get the replacement parts for the dryer and then to install them. So a month later it is finished. We are now the proud owners of clean and non-crunchy clothing, towels and bedding. Life is better.

Skinny Baby

So we got Baby of Dreams weighed last week and I don't quite know what to think. She is now 11 months old, eats really well and walks (sometimes runs, everywhere). She is happy most of the time, except when she is telling you why she thinks she should be doing something you do not want her to do. Whenever I see her next to other babies her age, I think "baby of dreams really is on the small side" or "wow that is a big baby". She weighs 15 lbs. 10 ounces. She seems normal to me and almost every other baby seems overweight. My mom says I was a skinny baby too and says I shouldn't worry. And I don't too much. But I would like to move her into a big car seat and have her face forward, but know that won't happen for a while yet. Oh well, at least I know she is healthy and happy. We we get her into that car seat eventually.

Not Getting Any Better

I just can't seem to get the hang of keeping this updated. I did want to mention that we successfully found Baby of Dream's lost paperclip. Well, I found it. After two diaper dives, The Husband refused to continue looking. Wimp. He saved me one diaper for when I got home from work and luckily I found it about two days after it disappeared. Baby of Dreams has had multiple bruises and two cut lips since then. We have a wild woman on our hands.

Baby of Dreams is officially walking, as of about two weeks ago. Last week she walked and crawled and this week she prefers to walk. I think she will be running next week. She is so stinken cute because she is so small.

On the not so fun side, my mom called today to tell me that one of my cousins had passed away last night. This was a cousin that I grew up with and was closer to then others. I am really going to miss her. It is odd for me to realize that I will never see her again in this life. The only other thing I can think of to say is how grateful I am for the gospel. My cousin wasn't active in the church when she passed away and now she can learn everything. And she is lucky because she gets to see our grandfather now. I will miss her greatly, but I will see her again.
I found an article about her death, online. Very surreal.

Office Supplies

Well, I really thought that I would be on here more often. I have found that it is hard to do anything on the computer when Baby of Dreams is awake and when she is sleeping I am either doing household tasks or sleeping myself.

Tonight Baby of Dreams swallowed her first office product (that I know of). A small plastic covered, blue paperclip. This was her first swallowing of a foreign object so I panicked a bit. I rushed her upstairs to where the Husband was sleeping, to see if he could see it hiding in her mouth, he couldn't. He wasn't extremely worried, but I went downstairs and called the on-call doctor anyway. He wasn't too worried either, so then I calmed down. Now we begin the fun task of watching for the devious, blue paperclip to make it's appearance again. Baby of Dreams seems to be handling it all very well.

The Story of Us (I got Tagged)

I was reading my friend's blog and she had been tagged to answer a whole bunch of questions about she and her hubby. I was thinking, 'It would be good for me to get all that info down and fun to remember it all.' When I got to the end of her blog she had actually tagged me. So thank you Andrea.

How did you meet: We met for the very first time in August or September of 2000. The Husband was living with his uncle in Gresham, OR and preparing to go on a mission. I was on my mission, in my first area of Gresham, OR. Uncle was the ward mission leader, so of course my companion and I went over there quite a few times for dinner and missionary related things. I remember thinking that The Husband was a great 'kid' (he was 18 and I was 21) and doing a great job preparing for his mission after being a scoundrel of a teenager. The Husband remembers that I, was hot. We took a picture with him, me and and my companion, when I left the area. We never exchanged correspondence or even really thought about each other again until October of 2004. I was going to school at BYU-Idaho and he was living in Parker, ID, about 15 minutes from campus. We were both involved with ldssingles.com and randomly started chatting with each other online. I was about to stop chatting with him because he wasn't very interesting, when he mentioned he had gone to school in Oregon for a bit. It took us a few minutes to put things together, but we finally realized that we had met on my mission. We went on our first date two days later. After our first date he felt that he didn't want to date anyone else. We held hands a week later and were seeing each other exclusively after that.
Where did you go on your first date: The Husband took me on a drive up Kelly Canyon, then we came back and went on a walk around a park in Rexburg. We then picked up once of his cousins, that had lived in Gresham, and the three of us went out to ice cream. We then dropped her off at home, but did not want to end our date, so we played pool until I had to be home for curfew.
How long have you been together: We have pretty much been together since our first date, so at least three and a half years now.
Who eats more: The Husband, although I think I might have for a while when I was pregnant.
Who said I love you first: I am not positive, but I think it was him. I wanted to wait and say it when I was pretty sure he was "the one" and he just knew I was cool and he really, really liked me.
Who is taller: Me, sigh. I always swore I would marry someone at least 6'4". I am 5'10" and he is 5'9"
Who sings better: I guess me, but only because I sang for two years in high school and he never had any training. He has a very nice voice though.
Who is Smarter: It just depends on the subject. We both have different strengths.
Who does the Laundry: Me, pretty much always.
Who does the dishes: We now switch off every week.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed: If you are standing, looking at the foot of the bed, he does.
Who pays the bills: I do. As the Husband says,"You are so good at it and why should we both stress about the bills."
Who mows the Lawn: He does, except the one time I did it, when I was extremely pregnant. Go figure.
Who cooks dinner: First of all, we hardly eat dinner together, because of his work schedule. But we both cook. I probably do it just a bit more than him, because I am home more. He likes cooking breakfast and Mexican food.
Who drives when you are together: He does, except when we are on a trip and he is extremely tired and needs to take a nap.
Who is more stubborn: We are both extremely stubborn. It makes for interesting disagreements.
Who kissed who first: Well, he went in for the kill, but I was extremely ready and very happy about it. We were watching a movie at his house with his brother and girlfriend (now wife). I have no idea what movie we watched ;)
Who proposed: I would have to say both of us. I suggested it, but he actually asked. Over Thanksgiving break his parents invited us to go up to Island Park to stay with them, in a relatives cabin. It was all very proper, I was in the room downstairs and he was in the room upstairs next to his parents. His parents were watching a movie downstairs and we were upstairs cuddling and talking on the couch. He asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told him I wanted something sparkly. He acted like he didn't understand for a bit and then he let on that he got it. At the beginning of December we traveled down to Utah to see my cousin who had just had a baby. We stopped at Temple Square and were sitting on the steps in front of one of the doors of the temple and he just asked me. He didn't even have a ring so we moved my CTR ring from my right hand to my left hand. We later picked out a very simple white gold band that became my engagement ring for a few weeks. About a week and a half before Christmas I had to have some minor surgery. I got home and was recuperating on the couch. He sat on the floor and was holding my hand for a while. When I brought my hand back up there was a gorgeous diamond ring on my finger. He had gotten it that day while I was in the hospital. It was nothing like we had talked about except that it was a square diamond, but I absolutely loved it and still love it to this day. We were engaged six weeks after our first date and married six weeks after that.
Who is more sensitive: Me, although he surprises me sometimes.
Who has more siblings: He has 5 siblings. I was raised as an only child, but have 4 half siblings.
Who wears the pants: We both wear pants and sad to say, both wear skirts. (He like to wear a lava lava that he got on his mission, around the house.) We try to share things pretty equally, although if business needs to be regulated, he has designated this my job.

I am going to tag a few people now, mostly because I really enjoyed doing this and want others to enjoy it too, but also because I don't know all of my friend's stories.
Okay, I tag Heather, Alisha, Jessica Wood, Jessica Aston and Audrey.

Catch Up

Well, I thought I would do a pretty good job of this, but I have been slacking already. In my defense though, we have been pretty busy lately. The Husband's days off were changed so that we got a four day weekend last weekend, so we went to see my mother, grandmother and aunt. We also got to see The Husband's grandparents and one of his cousins and his wife. It was a wonderful weekend. Usually the stress of traveling gets to us and we end up being miffed at each other for at least part of the time, but this trip went without a single miff, as soon as we got in the car and left. It was wonderful and a much needed relaxing time. Unfortunately we are still not completely unpacked from it. I should probably be working on that now, but Baby of Dreams has been taking an extremely long, and much needed, nap, so I am catching up on a little correspondence and computer stuff that has been piling up.

I wanted the world to know that our garden is ready to be planted as of last Thursday, unfortunately neither of us have gotten out there to plant anything. Although it did snow for a few minutes this morning, so is it really a good idea to plant yet? It will probably have to wait until Saturday because that is the first day both of us will have off work.

I am trying to think of all the wonderful things Baby of Dreams has been doing lately. I just bought a fabric thingy, to go in the kid sitting place, in a shopping cart and took Baby grocery shopping for the first time without her sitting in her car seat. When we got to the check out counter she decided that the rotating belt looked fun and tried to climb out of the cart and onto it. Luckily mean mommy stopped her. She wasn't too impressed with me, but didn't take it too hard.

I am just waiting for her to wake up now. She is upstairs with The Husband, who is trying to get some sleep in before he goes to work, so the minute I hear her wake up I will have to run and grab her, so she does not wake him up. She has been asleep now for about 3 hours, which is unheard of for her. I think I had better take advantage of the few minutes I am sure I have left and eat some dinner. I have leftover beef curry and rice in the fridge from yesterday and I am very excited about it.

It really is time for me to go to bed

I was just sure that Baby of Dreams would go to sleep soon after I got home from work. I even turned down an invitation to watch 27 Dresses with my brother and sister-in-law at their apartment, because I figured she would go to sleep right after I fed her. That was at 7:30 pm. It is now 10:12pm and I just put Baby of Dreams upstairs in her crib and she is still not asleep. Oh well, I guess I will see 27 Dresses some other time. Baby of Dreams is having a very difficult time going to sleep, so here I am cutting this short. Real quick though, if I know you and you leave a comment on one of my blogs, I will probobly add you to my People We Like list. Oh and one question, what does blog mean or stand for?

Stake Conference

I will preface this by saying that The Husband works nights and got home at 9:30 am this morning. Stake conference was at 10:00 am so I was glad that he made it in time. Attending church solo, with a new crawler is quite a chore. Unfortunately The Husband is getting sick and therefore opted to stay home and sleep it off, before going back to work tonight. So I strapped Baby of Dreams into the stroller and walked the 5 minutes to the church with her. I guess I should have known better than to sit where baby couldn't crawl around. We sat down next to girl who looked awfully familiar to me. It turns out that I used to work with her at the Nordic, up at BYU-I. We chatted for a bit before conference started and very soon after it became apparent to me that Baby of Dreams was not going to sit nicely on my lap for 2 hours. She didn't even last 10 minutes. We ended up in the overflow section in the Relief Society room, where many other parents with small children were. I sat by a couple in our ward that have a little boy a few months older than Baby of Dreams. The babies had a great time swapping toys and sharing each other's snacks, that is until Baby of Dreams spit up, which is normal, and then proceeded to wipe her icked up hands all over the little boy's hair, which is not normal. His mother smiled and very calmly wiped off her son's head. I am just now realizing that I am the mother of the wild child that leaves the spit up mess behind everywhere they go. I did clean everything else up, but good grief, how did things come to this? I blame The Husband for being a rambunctious youngster himself and passing the genes onto Baby of Dreams. I am sure that I never did anything even close to that when I was a baby ;)

It Begins

Well, I fianlly did it. I joined the world of bloggers. I have been keeping up with a lot of friends and their blogs and thinking how fun it was to get to know their families better. This has made me start realizing all the positives to blogging. First of all it is very much like a journal, which I am usually terrible at keeping up with. Second it is a good way to keep family and friends updated with our life. I have been quite successful at keeping up with Facebook, so I think I might be able to handle it. I might even get The Husband to add his two cents every once in a while. I am now going to go play with the settings and layout.
