The 1st Birthday of Baby of Dreams

Okay, so Baby of Dreams' birthday was on August 10th, but I figured I should get something up here sooner or later. As typical of most one-year-olds, Baby of Dreams was not too excited about her party. We had quite a few people over including all of The Husband's immediate family and The Wife's mother and aunt. We stripped Baby of Dreams down to her diaper, spread out a sheet on the lawn and let her at her small, three layer, sugar-free, carrot, birthday cake. She would not touch it.
The husband smashed her hand into the cake and tried to put some in her mouth. She would not have any of it. She preferred to wander around the backyard picking up green plums, off our tree, and stuffing as many as she could in her mouth. She put up quite a fight when I made her spit them all out. She did seem to slightly enjoy taking tissue paper out of her gift bags, but wasn't extremely interested in her toys. It probably did not help that most of her toys immediately found temporary homes with the children at the party. Oh well, we learned some things about one-year-old parties that we will try to implement in the future. And lest you feel that Baby of Dreams has every right to ignore my sugar free cake, she ate lots of it in the following days, as long as I cut it into nice small cubes. I was taking videos of Baby of Dreams and the cake so I did not get any actual pictures of her. But, I got pictures of her the next day with her toys.
All in all it was a good day and my little, tiny baby is now one year old. Just this morning Baby of Dreams was running around the kitchen making high pitched squealing nosies and being content with life, it was extremely entertaining, I asked The Husband what we had done before Baby of Dreams entered our family and we both agreed that we must have been bored to tears.

I can't believe she is a year old already! I wish we could have come to see you while we were in Idaho! The day we were planning to go to Idaho Falls Alexia ended up having a temperature of 103. It was not a fun day! I promise we will see you the next time we come! You have an adorable little girl!

She's an adorable Baby of Dreams! Is that the cake recipe from the back of the "What to expect the First Year" book?
